Forbidden Airwaves
Forbidden Airwaves has been a long time coming. J.D. Stone's desire to own a radio station was the main reason for its existence. J.D. wanted to listen to a station that brought the original rock format, underground/progressive rock, back to life. A station that doesn't play the same 4-500 songs, like classic rock and classic hits stations do, over and over and over again.Stone wanted a station that played a wide range of music. A station that played the music that the on air personalities chose to play...not a playlist dictated by a corporate office.
Thep other main reason that J.D. wanted a station, was to bring back one of the most beloved Bay area radio personalities...Russ Albums. One of the most respected rock radio personalities to ever grace the Bay area. With an encyclopedic knowledge of music and a voice that is unmistakable..Forbidden Airwaves is proud to present Russ Albums for your listening pleasure every afternoon from 2pm until 6pm. Monday through Friday. To top it all off, "Russ Albums Wax Museum" is presented every Sunday afternoon!
He also wanted to bring back one of the most knowledgeable female rock radio personalities in the Bay area...Mary McCarthy.
If you want to listen to a station that plays the hits, but also plays a wide range of music, from AC/DC to ZZ Top, as well as new artists that fit in with the classic artists, blues, deep tracks and a whole lot more...
YOU FOUND IT!
